Xan Myburgh is the Managing Partner of The Ownly Group and leads investments at Ownly Capital, the firm's direct lending fund and capital advisory platform. Ownly Capital blends its own direct funding capabilities with access to a curated network of bank and non-bank capital partners, helping business owners secure financing solutions tailored to their unique needs. A CFA charterholder and lifelong entrepreneur, Xan has spent his career building financial systems that empower business owners through access to smarter, faster, and more flexible funding solutions. Before founding Ownly, he founded and scaled multiple alternative lending platforms in both the United States and South Africa, including Backd Business Funding and Cash Flow Capital. Collectively, these ventures have provided billions in funding to tens of thousands of businesses, supported by proprietary credit models and underwriting infrastructure that have evaluated more than 200,000 companies. Xan is an active angel investor and board member, with experience spanning private equity, credit, and fintech across multiple continents. He is also an active member of YPO. Originally from South Africa, Xan now resides in Texas with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he's an avid skier, rock climber, and outdoor enthusiast, known for bringing the same energy and optimism to adventure that he brings to entrepreneurship.
