Matt Hawkins is an Ownly Expert and growth strategist with deep experience helping business owners create demand, unlock new markets, and scale customer acquisition through data, automation, and AI. He brings a practical, operator-first perspective shaped by years of building, scaling, and exiting technology-enabled companies. Matt currently leads HOSS Technologies, a growth and lead generation firm focused on helping companies design and execute scalable go-to-market systems. At HOSS, he works with founders and operators to move beyond traditional marketing by using data, automation, and AI to systematically identify demand, reach the right customers, and create repeatable growth engines. Earlier in his career, Matt co-founded and served as CEO of a prior incarnation of HOSS Technologies, a developer-focused commercialization platform that was acquired by Niantic Labs. Following the acquisition, its technology became foundational to Niantic’s Lightship platform, supporting the development of large-scale augmented reality ecosystems. Previously, Matt founded Broomly, a software platform that automated operations for thousands of home service businesses, and served as General Manager of a global e-commerce company through its private equity acquisition. He also founded and scaled the marketing and sales division at Socialware, which was later acquired by Proofpoint. Across his career, Matt has worked closely with founders and business owners navigating growth inflection points—helping them professionalize customer acquisition, implement modern tooling, and scale efficiently without losing focus on execution. His expertise spans go-to-market strategy, automation, AI-enabled growth systems, and operational scaling. Matt is a Y Combinator alumnus and holds a business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
